The national coding system for "branded" variable measure retail articles is adopted in Ukraine since 1998. The national coding solution is fully compliant with General EAN-UCC Specifications and provides the item identification unique within Ukraine.

For now several thousands of EAN-UCC identification numbers (restricted circulation) been allocated to the variable measure articles supplying for the retail sale.

National electronic catalogue of "branded" variable measure items was created as a supporting tool for manufacturers and retailers using the national system of coding of "branded" variable measure items.

Pilot version of the Catalogue was started in August 2001. The catalogue is accessible free of charge after the simple on-line registration.

The Catalogue provides:
• the item data (item name, item description,- package description, description of the variable measure - coefficient and the unit of measure;
• product manufacturer data - EAN-UCC Global Location Number and hyperlink to the correspondent Global EAN Party Information Register (GEPIR) client.

Search options:
• Search by item name
• Search by EAN-UCC Global Location Number (the list of all the variable measure retail items registered by the manufacturer).
